The interview process

  1. 1

Choose a role and one region

    Official

Jump says it is opening its 2027 campus roles region by region, starting with the US, and asks students who plan to apply to a role in another region not to apply to US positions as well. Each listing is for a named role (Quant Trader or Quant Researcher, intern or full-time) and a named set of offices.

  2. 2

    Online application

    Official

You apply on Jump's Greenhouse form. A CV is required and a cover letter is optional. The form also asks for your school, degree level (Bachelor's, Master's, PhD or Postdoc), expected graduation date, whether you will need visa sponsorship, any offers or deadlines you hold from other firms, and, for London/Amsterdam and London/Paris listings, which office you prefer. No closing dates are published.

  3. 3

    Interviews (format not published)

    Official

Jump does not publish its interview stages (online tests, phone or video rounds, final round). Its listings say Quant Trader candidates need outstanding probabilistic thinking and mathematical reasoning, programming experience, an appetite for risk-taking and a shown interest in markets. Quant Researcher candidates need strong programming and/or quantitative analysis skills (statistics, data mining, maths, machine learning). No finance knowledge is needed.

  4. 4

    Internship and full-time conversion

    Official

Internships last 10 weeks. They start with training (market mechanics, statistics, machine learning, C++/Python; mock trading and poker for traders), then move to trading-team projects with 1:1 mentoring. The US PhD QR internship ends with a final presentation, and Jump calls the internship one of the main pathways to a full-time offer.
