The interview process

1. 1

   Application

   Official

   UK: complete an online profile and upload a CV; no cover letter required. Only one application to a London Financial Advisory student or graduate programme per year (Spring Insight and Industrial Placement count as one choice). Use the same email address for all Lazard applications.

2. 2

   Application timing

   Official

   UK: recruitment is rolling and applications are reviewed as received, so roles can fill before the stated deadline. Page dates for 2027: Intern 8 Sep to 4 Oct 2026, Analyst 21 Sep to 24 Oct 2026, Industrial Placement from 22 Sep 2026 (rolling), Spring Insight 19 Oct to 15 Nov 2026.

3. 3

   Online assessment

   Official

   UK: three parts run through Criteria: a 15-minute timed aptitude test (no calculators), an untimed behavioural trait assessment of about 10 minutes, and a recorded video assessment reviewed by the graduate recruitment team. About 35-40 minutes in one sitting. Aptitude and behavioural results from the last 12 months can be reused but the video must be redone.

4. 4

   Video interview

   Official

   UK: the recorded video interview uses 5 set questions on motivation, cultural fit and interest in the firm and industry; Lazard advises candidates to come across naturally rather than scripted.

5. 5

   Virtual assessment centre

   Official

   UK: successful candidates join a virtual assessment centre with a small group of other candidates doing several exercises; Lazard says candidates are not in direct competition and all who meet the criteria progress. Spring Insight skips this stage (application, online assessments, final interview only).

6. 6

   Final round interviews

   Official

   UK: in-person final rounds with senior bankers, typically within a week of the assessment centre: two interviews of about 30 minutes each covering competencies, Lazard, financial markets, world affairs and some technical finance questions.

7. 7

   Offer

   Official

   UK: successful candidates get a formal written offer and have one week to accept and return the signed contract.

8. 8

   Internship and conversion

   Official

   UK summer internship runs 10 weeks with one week of technical training; a 10-minute presentation to senior bankers in the final week plus performance decide a full-time offer for the following year's Analyst programme (start in July). Spring Insight attendees can be fast-tracked for the next summer internship. New analysts attend a six-week European training programme.

9. 9

   Paris: Sovereign Advisory interviews

   Official

   Paris Sovereign Advisory internship: candidates who pass CV and cover letter screening sit a written technical test at Lazard's offices, then 2-3 in-person interview rounds with team members.

10. 10

    US asset management internships

    Official

    US Lazard Asset Management summer internships (New York, 7 June to 13 August 2027) are open to rising seniors graduating 2028 or rising juniors graduating 2029 depending on the role; US work authorisation without sponsorship is required. The Global Fixed Income posting says applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
